Yes, I understand nothing's free in this world, and yes, I'm going to miss "Mike the Radioio Guy," but I'm not going to pay twenty bucks a month for something I listen to a couple hours a week, especially if I can't run it through iTunes. And the 24 kbit stream for $5 probably has the sound quality of a transistor radio.
Ooo, look, radio.wazee's playing New Order...
Posted by ekurzen at March 29, 2003 1:40 PM | TrackBackRadioio is available in mp3 format which works great with iTunes. Once you hear the sound quality the 128k streams, there's no going back...
The guy who does our sound design (processing) has had offers from clear channel, adsertion, and several other major net-radio networks. But he, like the rest of us here, are truely all about the music. The audio processing used on all radioio channels is exclusive to radioio.
If you goto our website and fill out the contact form and ask for a free week of 128k service, customer support will give it to you to try out for yourself - so I can shutup now. ;-)

I don't know if Radioio has reduced the rates sice you tried it, but I am paying $35 for four months for the 128kbs stream (I'm doing the quarter subscription). It's worth to me. I like the no DJ bs talk format. I listen mostly to Classical and RadioioClassical is the best, beating wave radio Public stations, and the garbage Classical FM on the web. There are a lot of foreign classical radios that are excellent too, though.

Posted by: Joe on April 24, 2005 6:40 AMThanks for the suggestion, Joe. I should go back and check out Radioio at some point. Though mostly I've been listening to KCRW, a public radio station here in Los Angeles. Great music on Morning Becomes Eclectic in the mornings, then NPR during the day. Good stuff.
